LONELADY FEAR COLOURS

Multi-talented Manchester-based musician LoneLady is shimmying closer to the release of her third album Former Things (due out on the 25th of June via Warp Records). Channelling danceable post-punk reminiscent of New Order's 'Blue Monday', 'Fear Colours' is the album's snappy second single. Aligning processed beats that break in all the right places, warm analogue synths hum as angular bass guitar adds an irresistible groove as LoneLady's idiosyncratic vocals are almost percussive in their delivery. Bringing in an ear-worm of a guitar line towards the end, that wouldn't sound out of place on Blondie's Parallel Lines, 'Fear Colours' is an accomplished piece of nostalgic alt-pop seen through an entirely fresh lens. -Holly Mullineaux
